GNU, GPL, Open Source BetaNews reports that popular news aggregator Reddit has gone open source. The Reddit source code is available now and is written largely in Python.

It will be interesting to see if this does anything to digg. Maybe they will respond with new features.

I read or saw something from the founders of Digg that they want to make Digg more intelligent by suggesting articles. It sounds a bit like stumble upon.

I wonder if we can get them to release the code for the lisp version too. I would be very interested in looking at that.

This certainly good idea. Now I can see how Reddit was done, and learn something from it and maybe even contribute to it. ;-)
